Development Squad

The 2010 SSFA Development Program will include a 32 player Under 10 Squad. The squad will train at the Harrie Dening Football Centre on Monday alongside the Under 11 and 12 boys’ squads, the Goalkeepers, and the Under 12 and 14 girls’ squads.

The squads will be selected by an open trial process to be conducted at the Harrie Dening Football Centre (Bates Drive, Kareela) commencing on October 18th 2009. There will be a total of 4 trials; every player is guaranteed 2 trials.

Players who are successful in being selected in the squad will be coached under the curriculum based on the Football Federation of Australia National Coaching Curriculum developed as part of the aim of winning the World Cup in 2022.

The coach to player ratio will be around 1 to 8 with each coach holding a minimum FFA Accreditation of Youth Licence. Many of the coaches will be Asian Football Confederation Licence holders.

The squad will train weekly and will play games on a regular basis against other Development Squads from Illawarra, Macarthur, St George and Blacktown.

We hope that a specialist Fitness + Sports Science Coach will work with all of the squads. Sports Medicine coverage will be available at all sessions by a qualified Sports Medicine Practitioner.

Squad Training Commences: 22/02/2010 till 20/09/2010
When: Mondays nights. (full details to be provided)
Duration: minimum 30 sessions
Cost: $250.00 (including playing strip and track top)

These squads are for players aiming to play Representative Football as such standards of discipline and attitude will be high. However this is not a trial for any future Representative team and as such there is no guarantee of representative selection in the future.
