Engadine Eagles Soccer Club was formed in 1961 and our first competition year was 1962 in which the club finished the year as Association Club Champions. In 1976 women?s soccer was introduced to the Eagles with our first women?s side playing. The clubs 14A team won the Champions of Champions in 1978, then our 21A team won the Robertson Cup in 1989 and 1990. The Eagles new Clubroom was built around 1989-90 as an extension onto the existing canteen. Our PL1 team were Runners Up in the Champion of Champions 1990 and 1993 and won in 1994, they also won the Amateur Cup in 1990 and 1998. The club?s senior women?s side won the State Cup in 1991 and last season our 35A team won the Champions of Champions. Our 35A team will play in the Champions of Champions again this year with their first game being at Lismore. During the last four years our club has grown by nearly 200 players from 417 ? 1999 to 499 ? 2000, 557 ? 2001 and this season we now have 603 players. Women?s soccer has grown immensely with the club now having 7 women?s teams.

Last season was the 40th year of the Eagles Soccer Club with which the club celebrated with a Debutante Ball which was a great success. Over the past 40 years the club has had many people helping to run the club, starting in 1961 with dual Presidents, A. Versegi and W. Hodges. Later we had Kevin Preston, Keith Organ, Geoff Stolzenberg, Kay Stolzenberg to our now President, Ron Shepherd. The club has also had a good representation on the SSJSFA with Kay Stolzenberg, Tom Hill and Bob Brown all on the Association Committee for many years, Tom and Bob both still on the Committee. Both Geoff Stolzenberg and Dolly Organ have also contributed many hours on the Association P & D and Appeals Committees.

These are just a few of the people who have put in a lot of time to help run this great club since it began. There are many more people who have put in many hours of hard work over the years to make this club what it is today.
